Invite applications for subject lead of chemistry department of BIT
The Discipline of chemistry is one of the major disciplines of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). The department of chemistry consists of 4 disciplines. The disciplines are Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry. The academic staff of the department are now totals about 35, 75% of these teachers posses Ph.D. degree.
At the undergraduate level two Major Subjects, Chemistry and Applied Chemistry, are offered, both of which have 60 students every year and lead to B.Sc. Degree. In the education of graduate students, the Department has 2 Ph.D. programs including Physical Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry, 4 M.Sc. programs in all majors of chemistry in our department. At present, the Department has a graduate student body of about 65 M.Sc. candidates and 52 Ph.D. candidates. A Post-doctoral Research Center was built in 2003 to attract young Ph.D. graduates from other institutions home and abroad to join in our research and teaching work.
Physical Chemistry has been one of the key disciplines in Commission of Science technology and Industry For National Defense since 2002.
Now, it gives public notice of 4-6 vacancies to be filled to satisfy the fast development of Chemistry in BIT.
The details about these vacancies are as follow:
(1) Inorganic synthesis and preparation; Coordination chemistry; Metal-oxygen Cluster (Polyoxymetalates);
(2) Electroanalytical chemistry; Chromatography; Chemical sensors;
(3) Organic synthesis; Metal-organic chemistry;
(4) Theory and quantum chemistry; Surface, interface and colloid chemistry; Electrochemistry.
The requirements for these positions are as follows:
1. The applicant should be patriotic, honest and upright in his (or her) ways. He (or She) has noble morality and rigorous approach in science;
2. The applicant should have positions of assistant, or associate professor or professor in the university with high standard in the world. The people, who takes precedence over the others, is professor funded by the Yangtze River Scholoars Award Program of the Ministry of Education or the people who have won the National Grants for Outstanding Youths.
3．The applicant should have creative ideas and strategic thinking, who has the ability or potential capacity to lead the discipline to catch up with the advanced level in the world.
4. The applicant should have strong team-spirt, management and leadership. He (or She) should be good at training young chemists, organizing academic team for capturing scientific fortresses cooperatively.
